Europe To Take Refugees From Anywhere But Palestine

“It is the very least we can do. Unless the people who seek a new life here are from Palestine.”

Brussels, December 6 – Officials of several prominent and influential Continental states restated their commitment today to absorbing as many people as necessary who are fleeing conflict or oppression, unless those people are Palestinian, because only when Palestinians move away from conflict does ethnic cleansing occur.

Representatives of Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and several other European Union members reiterated that they will maintain their open-borders policy when it comes to migrants seeking a better life than the war, poverty, disease, and political repression they would otherwise face in the in their countries of origin, with the exception of Palestine, since allowing Palestinians to find refuge outside Palestine will facilitate the removal of the Palestinian population from its home territory, which obviously does not occur in any important way when other populations flee their countries of origin.

“We have a humanitarian responsibility not to turn anyone away who flees for their lives or freedom,” declared European Parliament delegate Anne Tissemitt of Belgium. “This is especially the case, morally, given how many European countries engaged in colonialism and imperialism, often in the very lands from which so many no flee to our shores. It is the very least we can do. Unless the people who seek a new life here are from Palestine. We cannot accept that. That would mean facilitating ethnic cleansing.”

“No one wants to condone, let alone collaborate with, Zionist crimes,” explained Blo Dförtal of Sweden. “The surest way to protect Palestinians, rather than making it simple for them to become refugees, is to keep them in their homeland. We cannot in good conscience implicate ourselves, however indirectly, in a second Nakba. That might put Palestinian lives at risk – indeed, it may condemn them to untold suffering – but Palestinian lives have never had much value when weighed against the political aspirations of the Palestinian national movement or the groups that claim to work in the interests of that movement.”

Observers compared the statements to, and saw their inspiration in, pronouncements by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas when the residents of Palestinian refugee camps in Syria faced starvation, massacres, privation, torture, and expulsion at the hands of Syrian, Russian, and allied armed forces: he refused them entry to any areas under the control of the Palestinian Authority, arguing that their existence as stateless, homeless people serves the Palestinian cause, since the movement cannot exploit their suffering for political purposes if their refugee status disappears.
