Amid Decline, Leftists Claim Bibi Plotted 10/7 to Cull Leftist Voters

“It’s absurd to suggest that our camp, the pro-democracy camp, can’t attract a democratic majority, or even plurality.”

Tel Aviv, October 27 – Recriminations over the most recent war with Hamas continued to fester today, with activists and politicians at the other end of the spectrum from the incumbent prime minister, who face historic unpopularity, accusing him of engineering the massacre that started the war by killing thousands from a demographic that formed their base, to prevent a resurgence – rather than grapple with the widespread disillusionment that in fact lies behind dwindling support for their policies.

The bleak and worsening electoral prospects of Israel’s left-wing parties over the last three decades owe much to years of brutal Palestinian terrorism that soured the electorate on the prospects of ever coexisting with genocidal neighbors, but also to the delusional insistence by those left-wing parties, years after reality had proved otherwise, that peace lay just around the corner if Israel compromised on unimportant things such as its own security, or its survival as a Jewish state.

However, career left-wing politicians, loath to abandon long-disproved axioms about the possibility of reaching a sustainable peace agreement with a culture that glorifies Hitler and aims to duplicate and surpass his brutality to Jews, if only the Jews gave them more and more capacity to do just that, have instead blamed their electoral decline on the right-wing leadership and its principal figure, longtime Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

“It’s absurd to suggest that our camp, the pro-democracy camp, can’t attract a democratic majority, or even plurality,” charged MK Gilad Kariv. “The voters know. Just look at all the protests, hundreds of thousands of people, all united in… well, they were united in demanding that everything be done to bring back the hostages, but we were there, too, blaming Netanyahu, and no one told us to pound sand, so they must agree with us. QED.”

“No, the only reasonable explanation is that Bibi is suppressing voter turnout, by all means necessary,” he continued. “Seeing anyone but Netanyahu as the villain robs our entire narrative of its basis. For democracy’s sake, we must accept that the prime minister, threatened by peace-loving dwellers of the Gaza Envelope, engineered, or at least enabled, the mass-murder of left-wing voters two years ago. Suggesting that Palestinians have volition, and that they constitute the villain in this story, means you have lost sight of democratic values.”

Kariv added that he has similarly been looking into the emerging possibility that jet fuel cannot melt teel beams.
