Tehran, April 20 – Senior officials of the Islamic Republic expressed quiet confidence this week that Russia President remains on track to complete his brief excursion in Ukraine “at a moment’s notice,” freeing up Moscow to provide the decisive military assistance Tehran had counted on during its recent conflict with Israel and the United States.
“He should be done any day now,” one surviving ayatollah told state media, speaking on condition of anonymity because the matter involves delicate alliance expectations and also if he communicates for too long with anyone, Israel will pinpoint his location and the US will drop a bunker-buster on his head. “Brother Putin assured us it would be quick. Three days, perhaps a week at most. We have been patient.”
The Islamic Republic has supplied Russia with thousands of Shahed drones and components since 2022, helping sustain Moscow’s grinding campaign in exchange for anticipated reciprocity.
