Man Hoping To Rid Palestine of Jews Calls Israel ‘Racist’

ErekatMunich, Germany, February 6  – The chief Palestinian negotiator in talks with Israel has asked the world to “punish” the Jewish state for its racism, as he pursues the formation of a state next door in which Jews will not be allowed to remain.

Saeb Erekat laid into his Israeli counterpart Tzipi Livni, characterizing the government she represents as a “racist regime” whose intransigence has condemned the current round of negotiations to yet another failure to produce even a modest framework agreement, vowing that he and his compatriots would never change anything about their demands.

“I told her in front of the whole world that we will not change our history, our religion or our civilization. We are the lawful sons of Palestine; we will not accept Israel as a Jewish state,” Erekat said, according to the Ma’an news agency. He insisted that the world apply pressure to Israel so that the latter would abandon its claim of attachment to the same parcel of land, its religious connection, and the millennia of documented Jewish civilization there.

Erekat again emphasized the Palestinian position that Israel would not be recognized as a Jewish state; such recognition could imply an abandonment of Palestinian refugees’ desire to return to the areas they fled or abandoned in 1948, the fulfillment of which would overrun Israel with non-Jews and negate the only place Jews might be able to call their own after 2,500 years of subjugation to the rule of others. In the meantime, he is pursuing the formation of a state that would be explicitly Arab in its inception, to the exclusion of other races such as Jews.

“Israel is racist against Palestinians in ways that did not happen in South Africa. The world should rise against this racist regime, hold it accountable and punish it,” he said, as he attempts to secure the removal of hundreds of thousands of Jews from the land he seeks for a state. Erekat repeated his refusal to abandon his ancient roots in the land, claiming that his Canaanite ancestors preceded the advent of the Israelites, while insisting that Israel compromise its own; the Erekat clan arrived in the area from the Arabian peninsula in the nineteenth century.

Israelis were unavailable for comment, as they were collectively engaging in a facepalm and shaking their heads.
