Planners have also vetoed Chicago, worried the peaceful city will become a chaotic hellscape of gangland violence.
Arlington, January 12 – American military special operations personnel disclosed today that should push come to shove and the Trump administration decides to apprehend the Supreme Leader of Iran as it did the president of Venezuela, the question of where to incarcerate the man will prove troublesome, given that the default candidate location lies within an area known for dangerous ideas that might influence the Ayatollah and prompt him to espouse extremism.
A senior officer at the Pentagon, speaking on condition of anonymity, allowed a small group of reporters a glimpse of the Department of Defense’s thinking on several burning international issues, among them the fate of Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, whose regime appears closer to collapse than at any time since the Islamic Revolution of 1979 brought his predecessor to power. If, as some believe Trump plans, American special forces are to replicate the feat they performed with Nicolas Maduro the week before last, Khamenei cannot be held in New York City, where the far-left culture of Mayor Zohran Madani, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and other progressive stalwarts reigns – lest the Islamist cleric pick up notions that will radicalize him.
“We’re weighing a number of alternatives,” acknowledged the colonel. “One proposal calls for holding him in a more secure, out-of-the-way place such as Vermont. The problem there is that those people keep sending Bernie Sanders to the Senate, and who knows what craziness he’ll be exposed to there.”
For similar reasons, planners have ruled out anywhere on the West Coast.
One intriguing possibility has Khamenei incarcerated among Hasidic Jews while he awaits trial for terrorism and crimes against humanity – most likely the Lubavitch Hasidim of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, shielded from the destructive influence of Mamdani’s City Hall. One note attached to that proposal observed that the facility in question may already have available an access tunnel to help avoid unruly or disruptive demonstrators near the main entrance.
Planners have also vetoed Chicago as a holding site: they worry that the presence of such a polarizing, anti-establishment figure will transform the peaceful city in to a chaotic hellscape of gangland violence.
The colonel declined to say in what direction the planners are leaning, or even whether any firm plans exist to snatch Khamenei in the first place. “But regardless, the threat must be credible,” he explained. “You can’t foreshadow the prospect of arresting one of the world’s worst troublemakers and then dump him somewhere without attention to the potential impact. Hmm. Maybe among some people who had to flee Iran for their lives…”
