Tel Aviv, May 29 – A survey of all major Israeli financial institutions, broadcast entertainment companies, and journalistic enterprises has uncovered a reality straight out of antisemitic conspiracy theories: that these entities are all under the control of a group of well-connected, wealthy Jews.

The country’s largest banks, broadcast media, film production industry, newspapers, news and entertainment websites, and even public institutions in those realms have Jews installed in all senior posts, and have always been managed by Jews. While such a scenario formed the basis of the libelous Tsarist forgery The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, published more than a century ago, it appears that in modern Israel, that situation does obtain, raising questions among certain sectors of society whose interests those institutions are really serving.

“I know we’re supposed to think the various media outlets are competing against one another for market share, but this looks so suspicious,” explained Alex Jonas, who runs an independent broadcast and online enterprise. “The fact is they’re all run by Jews in this country, and you have to wonder whether that means they’re really looking out for everybody’s interests or their own.”

A previous work from 2014 purported to reveal that Jews even control the government of Israel, but that book found currency only among hardline conspiracy theorists, owing to its extreme claims. The newer study, as shocking as its researchers expect it to become, demonstrates that the tentacles of Jewish control penetrate far beyond the organs of government of Israel and into the institutions that govern the most mundane aspects of daily life, often with the consumer or citizen unaware who pulls the strings.

“What are they trying to achieve?” wondered Jonas on his weekly webcast. “What are their interests, and who can guarantee they care about anyone at all but themselves and their wealth? We need to be challenging this. Who let the Jews control so much of the economy and media in Israel?”

The study authors denied implying anything sinister. “Just the opposite,” insisted Anne Tissemit of the University of Munich. “Our main concern is that the concentration of such power in the hands of Jews might brook resentment from wider Israeli society, that’s all. Care must be taken not to repeat the mistakes of previous, darker eras. The responsibility, of course, falls on Jews to make sure not to provoke others by thriving. You’d think they’d have learned that lesson by now.”
