The younger brother dismissed the move as “aggression” and accused him of disproportionate response.
Nahariya, June 23 – Citing repeated incursions and an imminent threat to his Lego collection, 9-year-old Itai Rosenberg declared a unilateral “security zone” this morning across his 7-year-old brother’s half of their shared space, immediately sparking a fresh round of sibling hostilities officials described as “contained but volatile.”
Itai, who identified the eastern sector of the 12-square-meter room as a longstanding source of instability, erected a makeshift barrier using two overturned laundry baskets, a line of hardcover Harry Potter books, and a row of carefully positioned Pokémon cards. A crudely lettered sign reading “DEMILITARIZED ZONE — NO SNEAKING” was taped to the northern wall at approximately 1.2 meters’ height.
“Every time I turn around, he’s in my area taking my figures or stepping on my base plates,” Itai told reporters while adjusting a stuffed dinosaur outpost. “This is a temporary security measure. We gave him plenty of warnings. Now we’re enforcing the line.”
The younger brother, Yonatan, dismissed the move as “aggression” and accused Itai of disproportionate response after a single incident in which a green army man allegedly crossed the invisible midline. “He took my entire blanket fort hostage,” Yonatan complained, pointing to a crumpled pile of bedding now held behind enemy lines. “The international community — I mean Mom — needs to intervene.”
Parents confirmed they had issued repeated ceasefire appeals and threatened a full withdrawal of screen-time privileges if the situation escalates past bedtime.
Security analysts noted that Itai’s zone extends roughly 45 centimeters into Yonatan’s territory, granting the older sibling effective control over the shared nightstand and a critical segment of the device-charging port in the electrical outlet. “This changes the facts on the ground,” said one neighbor kid who asked not to be named. “He’s got charging priority now. That’s strategic.”
By press time, Yonatan had reportedly launched several low-trajectory pillow projectiles, two of which were intercepted by the laundry-basket wall. Itai responded with a stern warning of “mowing the lawn” if toy theft continued, while sources in the hallway indicated both sides were digging in for a prolonged standoff.
The older sibling’s office (bottom bunk) released a statement emphasizing its right to self-defense while expressing hope for renewed negotiations “once the other side recognizes our legitimate security needs.” The statement also accused “bad actors” (with their sister’s name crossed out) of exerting effective control over the younger as leverage against Itai.
The younger sibling’s allies in the international community called the elder’s demands “egregious” and called his actions war crimes.
